When someone asks me about purchasing a 4.0 liter six cylinder Jeep engine my first thought pattern is that a new crate engine is the best way to go. The 4.0 was discontinued at the end of the 2006 model year as the Jeep Wrangler got Chrysler’s new V6. Other codes (“E”, “F”, “K” and “L”) are 232 engines.
